Like the US Dollar ($) and the Japanese Yen (¥), the Indian Rupee too will soon have a unique sign that will be recognized worldwide.
The Government of India has shortlisted five designs following an all-India contest and one of these will be chosen as the official symbol. The babus will make the final decision though I wish they had gone for an online poll or something similar.
